Will this thug get what he deserves?
Having written the post below I came across another article in the Press and Journal. The court case involving young thug Derek Togher takes up two column inches on Page 3. Compare that with the front page photo, headline and half page article inside the newspaper about the Elspeth Davidson case.
Derek Togher has been on a staling spree around Caol targeting local resident’s cars. Elspeth Davidson was found guilty of slapping a 13 year old boy. Is that balanced coverage?
Poor Derek Togher has had his sentence deferred for background reports. In the meantime his photo should be emblazoned across posters in Fort William with the slogan, “I am a thief” under them. I hope the sheriff will then give him a suitable custodial sentence. If not, which I suspect will be the case, and then whilst he is enjoying the fresh air doing his community service, I can provide a T-shirt for him to wear. You can guess what will be written on it.
